GREENTREE IS GOING OUT!

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations

Matthew 28:19

We take missions seriously here at Greentree.

We believe missions should take place on both an international and a local level. Many times God must take us out of our comfort zones to get through to us, and this is one reason why we at Greentree Christian Church support a variety of mission projects. God is sending us to places like Haiti, India, and Kenya, where we participate in family trips, evangelism trips, and work trips. We also contribute to missions abroad by supporting Operation Christian Child, a ministry that encourages our youngest members to begin instilling a desire to serve.

We take several approaches to our missionary efforts locally, including high school service trips, community volunteer projects, food pantry donation, and much more. We can give to others out of the gifts that God has given to us in so many ways—these are just a few examples.

Watching the way God shapes and continues to grow the people on both sides of our outreach efforts—those ministering and those being ministered to—can be truly impactful. Christ’s life was the ultimate example of service, and serving others is one of the greatest gifts we can give.

Get involved!

Pray

Prayer is the driving force behind any ministry, but it is especially true for missions! Many times we cannot be present for most of the ministry that goes on, but through prayer we can be on the forefront of the battle asking God to bless the work that is happening.

Mission Trips

Greentree takes multiple missions trips each year to visit the different ministries we support. These trips enable us to see the different ministries on site, expand our worldview, and to encourage the local Christians.

Serve Locally

There are many ways that you can get involved without ever stepping onto an airplane. Opportunities include volunteering at local ministries such as G.R.A.C.E., with our monthly food distribution, or by reaching out to the international students who have come to Rolla for a higher education opportunity.

Meet Scott

Missions Minister

I love reaching out with the love of Christ to the world, and my job as the Minister of Missions and Outreach has enabled me to do just that since 2009!  I enjoy reaching out to the international students at MS&T, helping them understand the American culture and learning common English so friendships can be made while they are in the U.S.  I also look forward to leading our mission trips, visiting each of our partners who reach the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ, and seeing how the Gospel is lived out among the many different cultures.

My wife and I married in 1997 and we were blessed with our first son, Nat, in 2006, and then our twins, Sam and Zac, in 2007.  We served as missionaries with Pioneer Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea between 2003-2008.   I enjoy playing almost all sports, but especially racquetball and volleyball.  My wife and I play board games and card games for fun.  I enjoy listening to all kinds of music and playing music on my bass.

Send an encouraging note!

We know that you care about the missions we support! They would love to hear about how you are praying for the work they are accomplishing and how their updates have encouraged you.
